URA will be desperate to end a nine-match winless streak in the premier league when they host Mbarara City at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo.

The four-time champions last won a league game on November 26 when they beat Buhimba United Saints 7-3 at Nakivubo and have since lost five and drawn four in that period.

Stunningly, that win against Buhimba was only their second league in the season and find themselves in an unfamiliar territory fighting to stay up.

Hussein Mbalangu, hired to steer the ship has not won a league game and he fully understands it but is confident coming into this one.

“I know we have not won a league game since we came but I am confident of the victory against Mbarara City,” he told the club news.

URA has added four experienced lads in Disan Galiwango, Moses Waiswa, Rahmat Ssenfuka and striker Derrick Kakooza who the gaffer believe they are going to change the fortunes of the team.

“They are good players and will add a lot to us in each department,” he added.

URA are 13th on the standings with 18 points, same as Mbarara City who are slightly above on head-to-head after they won the reverse fixture 1-0 in Kamwenge.

On the same day, Express host Maroons under the Nakivubo floodlights at 8pm.
