Young Africans secured a 3-0 well-deserved victory against Singinda Stars in the NBC Premier League encounter on Thursday evening.

Allan Okello is finally off the mark at his new side Yanga. The Ugandan playmaker scored his first goal in the yellow and green colours to end his 10-game drought.

Prince Dube put Yanga ahead in the 37th minute with a brilliant finish to give the travelling fans a reason to jubilate.

At the stroke of the first stanza, Dube was tripped in the area and the centre referee pointed a spot to give Yanga a penalty.

Prince handed over the ball to Allan Okello, who placed the ball in the bottom corner to extend the visitors’ lead from a 12-yard mark.

Ten minutes into the second stanza, Dube tested the goalkeeper from a distance with a powerful effort and Mudathir Yahya was in the right place to pounce on the loose ball.

The visitors created several chances to extend the lead but Singinda’s backline stood firm to try and manage the damage caused.

The victory keeps Yanga on top of the table with 32 points from 12 games, while Singinda Black Stars lie ninth with 19 points from 12 games.
