2026 Victoria Cup:
- Uganda 10.5 – 15.5 Kenya
Kenya national golf team won the 2026 Victoria Cup away from home, defeating Uganda 15.5 to 10.5 at the lake side Entebbe Club.
Right from the opening day, Kenya looked a team to beat, leading from the first round to the final day.
Kenya led the foursomes on round one 2.5 to 1.5; they extended their lead with 3.5 to 0.5 lead in the four-ball-better-ball format.
During round three; Kenya won 3.5 to 0-5 in the foursomes making it 9.5 to Uganda’s 2.5.

In the four-ball-better –ball on Friday evening; Uganda won 3.5 to Kenya’s 1; as the hosts crawled back to the game 5.5 to 10.5 heading to the singles.
At this stage, Kenya only needed 3 wins in the singles session to be declared champions as Uganda required 8 clear victories.
On Saturday, during the singles’ championship, both teams tied 5-5; Kenya winning the final 15.5 to Uganda’s 10.5.
Uganda’s Abdullah Kakooza won 4&2 over Krish Shah.
17-year-old Ugandan Peter Mayende beat Kenya’s skipper Elvis Muigua 3&2.
Another Ugandan Elton Thembo overcame Yuraj Rajput 1 UP and team captain John Musiimenta won 3&2 over Isaac Makokha, a deaf player on the Kenyan team.
Godfrey Kambale won 2&1 over Kevin Anyien.

John Lejirma won 2 UP over Joseph Reagan Akena, Daniel Kiragu won over Abdul Kakeeto 1 UP, Tsevi Soni humbled Joseph Kasozi 6&5 as Andrew Ssekibejja lost 2&1 to Junaid Manji.
“We had a good preparation coming to this year’s Victoria Cup. The team pairings were spot on and we are glad for this victory” Kenya’s captain Elvis Muigua remarked.

Uganda’s skipper John Musiimenta hailed the fighting spirit from the teammates despite the home loss.
“We have lost honorably at home after a slow start. However, I hail the positive team spirit from all my teammates” Musiimenta noted.
Kenya claimed their fifth title in the Victoria Cup after earlier victories in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022 and lately 2026.
Uganda’s only victories have come in 2019 and 2025 with a stalemate for the two countries in 2024 as Kenya retained the trophy.
