Overview:

Ian Silver Ongaki won silver in the boys’ category of five years. Another silver came to Flavia Mbatudde in the girls' crop of 16 to 18 years. The three bronze medals came from Rashid Mubaraka (10 to 11 years boys); Halima Atatiru (14-15 years girls) as well as Bridget Nandawula (Junior girls 16 to 18 years).

 G7 Skating Championships 2026 (Uganda’s performance):

  • Boys 5 years: Ian Silver Ongaki (Silver)

Uganda earned five medals at the G7 Skating Championships 2026 held at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi, Kenya, on Saturday, 7th March.

The team (composed of Entebbe City Rollers club players) won two silver and three bronze medals at the event.

Ian Silver Ongaki won silver in the boys’ category of five years. Another silver came to Flavia Mbatudde in the girls’ crop of 16 to 18 years.

The three bronze medals came from Rashid Mubaraka (10 to 11 years boys); Halima Atatiru (14-15 years girls), and Bridget Nandawula (Junior girls 16 to 18 years).

“It was a successful championship, and I thank the players, their parents, coaches and all the stakeholders who facilitated our travel to Kenya,” Himran Sserumaga, the team lead at Entebbe City Rollers’ Club, remarked.

The team was officially flagged off at the Entebbe Municipal Council headquarters by the Mayor of Entebbe Municipality, His Worship Fabrice Brad Rulinda.

The Mayor also donated a new set of track suits to the team worth Shs. 1,200,000 and also offered Shs. 1,000,000 in cash to assist in the logistics whilst travelling.

Uganda Skating Federation (USF) fully blessed the team before travelling to Kenya, as they endured over 719 KMs by road.

They are expected back in Uganda by Sunday, 8th March 2026.
