Conference USA (CUSA) announced its postseason Women’s Basketball All-Conference, All-Freshman and All-Defensive Teams, along with the Superlative Awards (Newcomer of the Year, Sixth Player of the Year, Defensive Player of the Year, Freshman of the Year, Player of the Year and Coach of the Year) on Monday.

Uganda’s Mary Moses Amaniyo bagged one of the awards, which are voted on by the league’s coaches, sports information directors and a media representative from each school.

The Sophomore forward was named Conference USA Sixth Player of the Year after providing a major impact, especially rebounding, off the bench for the UTEP Miners throughout the season.

Amaniyo played all 29 games, made four starts, while averaging 8.9 points and a team-high 8.2 rebounds per game in 22 minutes per contest.

The former KIU Rangers forward recorded seven double-doubles, highlighted by a program-record 22 rebounds against Prairie View A&M.

She posted a career-high 20 points to go with 12 rebounds against USW and earned Conference USA Player of the Week honours during the season. She scored double figures in 14 games overall, including seven in CUSA play, and posted seven games with 10 or more rebounds.

Amaniyo led UTEP in field-goal percentage (52%) while ranking fifth in Conference USA in rebounds per game.
