JT Jaguars suffered their second defeat of the season, falling to UPDF Tomahawks,75-74, in overtime on Wednesday night.
The Jaguars (2-2) were in control for most of the game until the scoring drought in the fourth quarter, during which they scored just 10 points while allowing the Tomahawks to score 25.
Playing at their home, the Jaguars were in charge through three quarters, with the Tomahawks (2-5), who have struggled on their return to the top flight, playing catch-up until they did with just seconds on the clock in the fourth quarter.
While the Jaguars felt they were hard done by inconsistent refereeing, the team defended poorly in the fourth quarter, with Joel Icuma getting open looks that got the Tomahawks back into the contest. The shooting guard netted 13 of his game-high 22 points in the period.
Vincent Mubiru (11) and Bang Difu Desmasiro (10) also scored in double figures.
Abraham Akuei matched a game-high 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds to lead Jaguars’ losing effort. Fadhil Chuma contributed 15 points to go with a game-high 15 rebounds, while Duncan Lubwama scored 17 points and handed out 7 assists.
