Road to Buganda Masaza Cup 2026: Gomba Ssaza names formidable management team

Dan Mwesigye is the team patron. Jane Namatovu will serve as chairperson. Another strong lady Resty Namugema Mbatudde is now elevated to team manager status having served in the public relations docket for the previous three seasons.

Gomba Ssaza has named a formidable management team that will steer the team for the 2026 season in the famous Buganda Masaza football tournament.

The head of Gomba Ssaza Kitunzi Fred Williams Mugabi named a team of committed, diligent, experienced and trusted administrators.

Dan Mwesigye is the team patron. Jane Namatovu will serve as chairperson.

This is the first time that Gomba Ssaza will have a female chairperson.

Namatovu will work with Peter Wasswa and Swaibu Luzinda as first and assistant chairmen respectively.

“I am humbled to serve Gomba Ssaza football team as the chairperson. I thank the Kitunzi and ready to work hand in hand with the team members to deliver the best results for Gomba in the upcoming season” Namatovu remarked.

Namatovu is the Director of Kayabwe Pharmacy (cies) and Kayabwe Institute of Health Sciences in Kanoni.

Resty Namugema Mbatudde receives the appointment letter from Kitunzi Fred Williams Mugabi

Another strong lady Resty Namugema Mbatudde is now elevated to team manager status having served in the public relations docket for the previous three seasons.

Derrick Luliibe Nsubuga is the general secretary and Wilber Tebusweke is treasurer.

Ibrahim Bbosa is in charge of public relations with Steven Yamulemye the safety and security officer.

Gomba has won a record five titles in the Buganda Masaza Football Cup competition as they seek for an unprecedented sixth.

Christened as the “Lions”, Gomba roared to their first title in 2004. The others followed in 2009, 2014, 2017 and lately 2020.

Buweekula Ssaza is the reigning champion.
