FUFA has come out to bite hard on the issue of poor officiating, which has been a concern in the Uganda Premier League this season.

Therefore, FUFA, through its Referees Disciplinary Panel, has come out with punishments for errors they committed in recent games.

Six officials suspended for 3 months for breach of match officiating standards – Referee Musisi Henry, assistant referees Kinyera Fred and Mbabali Samuel, fourth official Ssemakula John, match commissioner Kugonza Ssemu Christopher and referee assessor Kimbugwe Hillary Godfrey and will undertake a refresher course.

It should be noted that the officials allowed Buhimba United player Eric Nyonyintono to feature in the game despite having a different colour of jersey from the rest of his teammates.

Assistant referee Immaculate Ongiera is suspended for three months for incorrectly flagging offside Hassan Mubiru’s would-be goal.

Referee Emmanuel Okudra has also been handed a three-month suspension for disallowing a legitimate SC Villa goal.
