St Noa Girls Secondary School was crowned as the Wakiso basketball champions for the third consecutive time counting.

St Noa secured a hard-fought 44-43 victory against St Mary’s Kitende in Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) basketball final.

It was an end-to-end encounter as both sides tied 17-17 at the end of the opening period.

In the second quarter, both sides locked up at 28-28 before going into the long halftime break.

After the halftime break, St Mary’s Kitende upped their game with better defence as they opened a five-point lead (36-31) at the end of the third quarter.

The game witnessed a nail-biting finish as Maxine Anyango went to the line with eight seconds to play as St Noa trailed by a point.

The Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the tournament took a deep breath before converting both attempts to give St Noa the much needed victory.

It’s the fourth title, since they have won their district basketball titles in 2019, 2024, 2025 and 2026.
