Kataka Football Club overcame visiting CATDA 2-0 at the Mbale City Stadium during match day 22 of the 2025/26 FUFA Big League on Easter Sunday.
Ali Sentamu and Ismail Tambula scored in either half for Kataka who are coached by Godfrey “Toldo” Awachango.
Having suffered a 0-1 loss away to Blacks Power on match day 21, Kataka regained their winning touch to climb to fourth position with 37 points.
This was the 12th win for Kataka in 22 matches as the final bend of the season comes knocking.
Kataka is now five points short from the table leaders Kigezi Home Boyz.
“I thank my players for the brave display against CATDA. We take a long break since we shall not be playing this coming weekend. This is good time for recovery of the players and planning ahead of our next visit to Wakiso Giants” Awachango told Kawowo Sports on Easter Monday.
Kigezi Home Boyz recorded a slim 2-1 over Nebbi Central at the Kigezi Al-Madina stadium in Kabale district
Henry Kitegenyi and Dominic Abonga, both January signings scored for Kigezi Home Boyz.
Blacks Power dropped to second place following a 0-1 loss away to Ntugasaze at the Kavumba Recreational Stadium.
Isaac Kiberu scored Ntugasaze’s goal in the 52nd minute.
Ntugasaze now has 9 victories in 22 matches as they are third on the 16 team log with 37 points.

Meanwhile, Paidha Black Angels dropped to fifth place after the 1-all draw with Kaaro Karungi at the Kyamatte playground in Ntungamo.
Kiyinda Boys hammered Onduparaka 3-0 at Bethelem in the one-sided duel.
Julius Muzerwa opened the scoring business two minutes to the half hour mark.
Veteran Frank Kalanda and Michael Kimera each added the other in the 69th and 72nd minutes respectively.
Kiyinda Boys climbed to 6th position with 32 points, ten off the leaders Kigezi Home Boyz.
At Hamz stadium (Nakivubo War Memorial stadium), Wakiso Giants won 2-1 home win over Iganga United in the mid-table battle.
The Purple Sharks now has 26 points, as Iganga United remains on 25 points.
Elsewhere, Bunyaruguru United humbled Young Elephants 3-0 at the Nyamambuka playground.
They are at home against 8th placed Nebbi Central currently on 28 points) at the Kigezi Al Madina stadium in Kabale district.
At the lake side Maroons stadium in Luzira, Mbale Heroes earned a point off Soltilo Bright Stars during the 1-all stalemate.
Soltilo Bright Stars scored the opener for Ronald Bithum Nsumbiano in the opening half.
Abraham Okello buried home a penalty for Mbale Heroes’ equalizer after goalkeeper Aslam Muhindo brought down David William Omary in the forbidden area.
Mbale Heroes missed a glorious opportunity to score through Gerald Hamya who fluffed a chance inside the goal area.
