The semi-finals at the ongoing 2026 CAF African schools football championship in Harare, Zimbabwe, will be played on Thursday, 9th April, prior to the climax on the subsequent day.
Uganda, represented by St Mary’s Kitende, takes on Benin as Morocco takes on Senegal in the other semi-final.
The semi-finalists had their last training on Wednesday in preparation for the clashes.
“We have had a good last training session as we get ready to play Benin tomorrow (Thursday). They (Benin) worked hard to get out of the game, and this is the reason I expect a challenging match. But, I am hopeful, we shall battle and eliminate them,” Uganda’s team captain Livingstone Kulata stated.

The team head coach, Hassan Zzungu, spoke of the right attitude and mentality from his charges ahead of the semi-final against the West Africans.
“The last training was good, and the response of the players is good. The attitude is good, and we shall go to fight for a win. We looked at the Benin team and have planned accordingly. The attitude of the players is positive, and we have prepared well,” Zzungu spoke to the media.
For starters, Uganda topped Group A with 7 points out of the possible 9, having scored 10 goals and conceded once.
The biggest victory came off the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 6-0 with the lethal Owen Mukisa scoring a hat-trick. The other goals were scored by Musa Kironde, Ivan Kakinda and Emmanuel Opio.
Uganda also beat Morocco 3-0 with Lucky Wanyama’s brace and Mukisa netting his fourth goal at the championship.
The official tournament opener between Zimbabwe (hosts) and Uganda ended 1-all.
Zambia, Burkina Faso, Morocco and the defending champions Ghana are the girls’ teams in the semi-finals.
Classification games to determine positions 5 to 8 were played on Wednesday.

- Match 2: Uganda 6-0 Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
- Match 3: Uganda 3-0 Morocco
