The tension, emotions and expectations were all fully charged up and well expressed during the top-of-the-table clash between Vipers and Kitara at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, under floodlights.

Right from the onset, the intentions and aspirations were clear. Fight for every piece of action with passion and full energy.

A couple of half-chances created, charged-up moments and definitely cautions to tame the emotions.

Before thousands of spectators under the Kitende floodlights, the hosts commenced the game brilliantly, slowed down in between, and ended the game on a strong footing.

The hosts commenced brightly with good coordination in the early stages of the game. Left back Enock Luyima delivered a great cross but defender Murushid Juuko was well stationed to head away the threat in the 8th minute.

Kitara right back Henry Musisi latched a later challenge on Nigerian-born winger Odili Chukwuma for a free-kick that Abdul-Karim Watambala curled, and defender Da Slyva Bady headed over at the back post.

Towards the half-hour mark, Chukwuma served a decent chip which Watambala headed into skipper Milton Karisa’s path but goalkeeper Meddie Kibirige collided with the Vipers’ captain.

Agondeze immediately tested Vipers’ goalkeeper Denis Kiggundu with a curled ball, but the shot stopper tipped the ball over for a corner kick.
