2026 Kampala Zone Boys’ Football:

  • Final: Lubiri SS 0 (5) – 0 (3) Kibuli SS

Lubiri Secondary School won the 2026 Kampala zone football title held at Hamz Stadium, Nakivubo war memorial grounds on Tuesday, 14th April.

This followed a thrilling 5-3 penalty shootout victory over Kibuli SS in a tense final of the USSSA Kampala Regional Qualifiers.

Normal time of this contest had ended goal-less with Kibuli SS playing a man less for long spells after a first half red card to their captain in the 20th minute.

Lubiri SS were composed during the shoot-out winning 5-3 to emerge as champions.

“I thank the players, school management, my fellow coaches and our fans” Lubiri SS head coach Dan Segawa remarked.

The final was graced by Justus Mugisha, president of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA).

Lubiri SS had humiliated Kazo Hill College 5-0 during the semi-finals whilst Kibuli SS edged Kawempe Muslim 1-0 in the other semi-final.

Following the conclusion of the qualifiers, Kampala region will be represented by five schools at the upcoming USSSA National Boys Football Championship to be held in Lira.

These teams will now carry Kampala’s hopes to the national stage as they compete against the best school sides from across the country.

The qualified teams are:

  • Lubiri SS (Champions)
  • Kibuli SS (Runners-up)
  • Kawempe Muslim SS (Bronze medalists)
  • Kazo Hill College
  • Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga
