Uganda’s representatives at the 2026 African Women’s Club Volleyball Championship, Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA), got off to a rough start in Cairo, Egypt.

The Kasasiro girls suffered a crushing 3-0 (16-25, 17-25, 10-25) loss to Tunisia’s powerhouse, CF Carthage (CFA), on Tuesday evening.

KCCA showed flashes of brilliance with some good floor defence in the opening set, but they struggled to find a consistent rhythm against CFC’s formidable serve and middle blockers.

Edward Bwenje’s charges came out swinging in the second and briefly led but the experience of the Tunisians shone through, securing the set 25-17. The 2017 champions were far too strong in the third set, winning it 25-10 and ultimately securing a straight set victory.

KCCA are back in action this evening against Keyan side DCI Queens, who also lost their opener to Carthage in straight sets.
