- MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo 8pm
The premier league showdown between third placed KCCA and second placed Vipers is on this Friday at the MTN Omondi stadium, Lugogo with either targeting maximum points to stay in the title race.
The game’s significance gained momentum following a 1-1 draw between Vipers and SC Villa on Wednesday and the winner will close the gap on leaders.
KCCA come into the game on the back of two bad results including a defeat to Villa that saw them lose ground in the race.
At the moment, the Kasasiro are seven points adrift but a win will see them reduce the gap to four points.
For Kitara, who held the champions to a goalless draw, victory over KCCA will see them cut the Venoms’ lead to just two points.
Brian Ssenyondo will have an opportunity to put one over his former pay masters, managed by league winner Wasswa Bbosa.
“We didn’t score against Vipers and that is an area we have tried to address in the training sessions we have had,” said Bbosa. “The target is to win and keep in close contact with the leaders and that is how important this game is,” he added.
Renewal of acquaintances
From both sides, there will be renewal of acquaintances with Brian Ssenyondo leading the ex-Kitara players at Lugogo.
Rogers Mugisha, Lazaro Bwambale and Umar Lutalo could all line up against the Royals while from the Hoima based side, Emmanuel Wasswa, Kato Samuel Nemeyimana and Muhammad Shabana are all available.
