JT Lady Jaguars completed a double against UCU Lady Canons in the National Basketball League.

The Lady Jaguars battled to a hard-fought 74-70 victory against the Lady Canons at Lugogo Indoor Arena on Friday.

It was a closely contested game from the word go, as the Lady Canons edged the opening period with a one-point lead (20-19).

In the second quarter, the game picked up the pace as both sides tightened their defences, but the Lady Canons went into the halftime break holding onto a six-point lead (38-32).

Coming from the long break, the Lady Jaguars put pressure on the ball, forcing the Lady Canons into multiple turnovers. At the end of the frame, the Lady Canons were trailing by three points (50-47).

In the final quarter, the Lady Jaguars employed a full-court press, keeping the Lady Canons in an uncomfortable position as they took home a four-point victory.

Mercy Batamuliza (17 points) and Priscillar Nambogo (12 points) scored double digits for the Lady Jaguars.

On the other hand, Martina Anyango managed a double-double, scoring a game-high 25 points to go with 11 rebounds.

Sylvia Nantongo (15 points) and Sylivia Nakituka (10 points) also scored in double figures in a losing effort.
