- Nemostars 3-0 Black Rhinos (25-23, 25-19, 25-14)
Having lost to APR Volleyball Club, Nemostars beat Zimbabwe’s Black Rhinos to return to winning ways.
Nemostars secured a well-deserved 3-0 victory against Black Rhinos in the CAVB Africa Men’s Club Championship at Petit Stade, Kigali on Sunday.
Nemostars’ head coach made a big change, trusting the youngster Hussein Adome for the experienced setter Smith Okumu.
Daudi Okello had a decent show in the service box, making two aces as Nemostars opened a six-point lead (10-04). Black Rhinos made a late charge but the Ugandan giants held on to take the set (25-23).
In the second set, Okumu came off the bench and his distribution came in handy late on the period as they extended the lead to two up (25-19).
Going into the third set, Nemostars came out of the blocks early, opening a six-point lead (9-3) that forced the Black Rhinos into a time. The good lead was due to the great net cover that limited the Rhinos’ attack on the day.
Nemostars will conclude the group stage against Litto Volleyball Club from Club in a game that is scheduled for Monday.
