Entebbe UPPC Football Club defeated Calvary 2-0 during the 2025/26 Uganda Premier League at the lake-side Fisheries Training Institute playground in Bugonga, Division A, Entebbe Municipality.
Two first half goals from Isa Bugembe and Ambrose Kigozi inspired Entebbe UPPC to their 12th victory of the season in 26 outings.
Bugembe scored from close range in the 23rd minute following Muhammed Kyeyune’s curling corner kick.
Kigozi, the club top scorer netted his 11th goal of the season from a penalty after the Calvary captain Junior Andama brought down Julius Poloto in the penalty area.
Entebbe UPPC was dominant right from the opening minutes of the game when midfielder Poloto shot over the cross bar from 35 yards in the 7th minute.
Three minutes later, Calvary defender Julius Ocen was well stationed to defends against Poloto.
A lively Bugembe had a distant shot swing wide away from the goal frame as Entebbe UPPC maintained their raids towards the opposition.
Calvary’s first threat came through Junior Emmanuel Ojok whose forward pass found striker Lawrence Olaboro in an off-side position.
On the quarter hour mark, Kigozi was denied by goalkeeper Hadji Shukuru before the visitors called for the first change of the game when Ronald Olado replaced Eric Otingcwinyu.
The best chance for Calvary arrived in the 16th minute through Olaboro’s shot that hit the right hand post in the 16th minute.
On the break, Entebbe UPPC also hit the goal post through the left footed Kyeyune.
The opening goal of the evening came in the 23rd minute when Bugembe beat goalkeeper Shukuru from close range with a simple tap-in.
Kyeyune swung in a corner kick that Kigozi hit onto the post before Bugembe, all alone tapped home the rebounding ball.
Three minutes later, Laban Tibita nearly made it two but his tap flew over after a decent Kyeyune cut back from the right flank.
On the half hour mark, Bugembe’s shot was deflected for a corner kick by Julius Ocen.
Calvary threatened when roving right back John Rogers curled the ball from distance over goalkeeper Denis Otim’s goal frame.
Bugembe returned with a directly struck free-kick well tamed by goalkeeper Shukuru in the 35th minute.
Kigozi doubled the Printers’ lead with a well struck penalty in the 42nd minute after Calvary captain Andama Junior had illegally felled down Julius Poloto in the forbidden area.
This was Kigozi’s 11th goal of the season, taking him joint top with KCCA’s Ivan Ahibisimbwe.
The second half kicked off brilliantly for the hosts. Left back Eric Ssenjobe had a glancing header miss target narrowly following Kyeyune’s inviting free-kick in the 48th minute.
Three minutes later, Bugembe shot a free-kick over the bar from 35 yards.
Calvary’s Stephen Orikot got cautioned for a foul on Poloto.
On the hour mark, Poloto and Laban Tibita were replaced by Nasur Saddick and Hassan Ssenyonjo respectively.

Kyeyune shot wide of the Calvary goal frame and Saddick tested goalie Shukuru from distance.
Calvary’s best moment of the second half came in the 87th minute when Ronald Olado shot but goalkeeper Otim was equal to the task at hand.
Entebbe UPPC skipper Musitafa Mujjuzi got cautioned for time wasting in the final moments of the game.
The maximum points for Entebbe UPPC now propelled them to 43 points from 26 games.
Consequently, Calvary suffered the 17th defeat that leaves them rock bottom with only 13 points fetched from 26 matches.
