Ugandan rugby sensation Philip Wokorach has been retained for Season 2 of the Rugby Premier League.

This international Rugby 7s franchise tournament attracts some of the best players from across the globe to compete across two weeks of thrilling rugby.

In Season 1, Wokorach turned out for the Bengaluru Bravehearts and scored some memorable ankle-breaking tries.

For Season 2, he has been retained and entered the international players’ selection draft, after which the drafted players join the locally groomed players in India.

Wokorach began his rugby career at the Kyadondo Rugby Club and rose through the ranks as a youngster in Stallions, Buffaloes and Heathens. He later moved to Kenya with the Kabras Sugar RFC, where he was a sweetheart to the home fans and opponents alike.

Wokorach currently plies his trade in the French Nationale 2 with RC Orleans, where he was the top try scorer with 16 tries.

The India Rugby Premier League 7s shall run from June 16th to 28th, a schedule that coincides with the Rugby Africa 7s, making Wokorach understandably unavailable for the Uganda Sevens.
