CAF announced its full support of Gianni Infantino as he seeks re-election as FIFA President for another term.

The 54 Member Associations that form CAF confirmed they will support Infantino to return to office for the period 2027 – 2031.

“The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) held a meeting today, Wednesday 29 April 2026, in Vancouver, Canada on the eve of the 76th FIFA Congress and the CAF Member Associations unanimously agreed to support Gianni Infantino to be re-elected as President of FIFA for the period 2027-2031,” reads a statement from CAF.

Infantino has been in office since 2016, steering massive changes in football both on and off the pitch across all 211 Member Associations.

CAF becomes the second Confederation to express its support to Infantino, joining South America’s CONMEBOL, which did so earlier this month.

Africa has a block vote of 54 Member Associations, which contributes heavily towards in the election process.

The 77th FIFA Elective Congress, where the future of the presidency will be voted on, will take place in Morocco next year.
