KCCA were left frustrated in the draw with champions Vipers after conceding a late equaliser that literally ended their title hopes for this season.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe had given the hosts a first half lead from the spot after he was fouled in the area but second half substituted Glod Beyuku Munsi levelled in the last minute of regulation time.
A seven-point gap remained between the two sides with four games remaining but here, Ismael Kiyonga rates the XI commandos trusted by Brian Ssenyondo for duty.
Mutwalibu Mugolofa 7.0: Could have been worse for KCCA in the opening half hour if Mugolofa wasn’t steady to deny Ssebagala and also punch away some dangerous deliveries in his area. Had nothing to do with the goal conceded late on.
Lazaro Bwambale 6.0: Started slow against the intelligent Yunus Sentamu but later grew into the game.
Gavin Kizito 7.0: Kept Odili and later Karisa quiet and made some important blocks as well. Didn’t offer much going forward but defensively solid throughout.
Mahmood Hassan 7.0: A solid performance from Mood as he rarely put a foot wrong. Made some important blocks as well and was willing to initiate play from the back.
Filbert Obenchan 6.0: He lost his man for the equaliser but otherwise, he rock solid.
Joel Sserunjogi 6.0: He was decent on the ball passing it calmly but occasionally went missing in the midfield battle. Hesitated to shoot when presented with a first half opportunity
Ashraf Mugume 6.0: Got a rare start in the absence of departed Jjara Brian and he played well
Said Mayanja 7.0: He enjoyed a midfield battle with Tadeo Lwanga and often came out on top. Set up Ahimbisibwe with a neat pass from which he won a penalty.
Sammy Ssebaduka 6.0: The winger was the most threatening of KCCA’s forwards in the first half, but he faded in the second. His teammates could have done better from a dangerous cross early on but overall did not do enough to trouble the visitors’ defence.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe 6.5: He won and converted the penalty from a clever run. Had a few second half chances spurned.
Shafik Nana Kwikiriza 7.0: Played one of his best games in KCCA colours on the left wing. He easily got passed Mandela on every occasion and created a plethora of opportunities in the second half.
Head coach Brian Ssenyondo 6.0: He was hesitant to make changes that maybe could have refreshed the tired legs and managed the lead better. It hasn’t often happened since that draw with URA in the Uganda Cup.
