Nemostars Volleyball Club returned to winning ways with a sweet victory against compatriots Sport-S Volleyball Club.
Nemostars secured a well-deserved 3-0 (25-16, 25-22, 25-23) victory against Sport-S in the Africa Club Championship encounter played at Petit Stade, Kigali on Thursday.
After facing a disappointing loss to Kenya Port Authority (KPA), the Ugandan giants responded with a dominant victory against Sport-S in the 9th-16th placement games.
Nemostars were proactive from word go, putting pressure on the ball, thus forcing Sport-S on the back foot.
Daudi Okello and George Aporu were active and present as they pierced through Sport-S’s defence, taking the first set (25-16).
In the second set, Nemostars opened a four-point (14-10) lead midway through the set, but Sport-S attempted a comeback but it was too late as the former took the set (25-22).
The last set was a slightly close-contested duel, but Nemostars hardly needed the second gear to win the game convincingly.
Nemostars will continue to keep its fight alive as they fight for ninth position in the placement games.
