KCCA Leopards edged Magic Stormers 65-60 in the National Basketball League encounter at YMCA Court, Wandegeya on Wednesday evening.

The Leopard returned to action after a big blow since their walkover loss to Miracle Eaglets. It was a hurtful moment as match commissioner Joy Olinga ruled that the colours clashed.

On the other hand, Magic Stormers came into this game in high spirits, having beaten the JT Lady Jaguars.

It was a greatly contested game from the opening minute as the Leopards trailed by a point (22-21) at the end of the first quarter.

However, in the second quarter, the Leopards turned up as they opened a six-point (42-36) lead going into the long break.

After the halftime break, the Magic Stormers improved the rim protection as they narrowed down the deficit to four points goint to the final period of the game.

Despite the Magic Stormers’ strong fight until the end, the Leopards did enough to secure a five-point victory on the day.

Tracy Namugosa (28 points), Sherinah Mwenyango (13 points) and Margaret Bagaala (12 points) led the Leopards in the double digits.

On the other hand, Daphine Adong (16 points), Joy Nekesa (13 points) and Babra Gimbo (10 points) scored in double digits for the Magic Stormers.
