The dust is officially up to the 2026 Pearl of Africa Rally after crews determined their starting position on Thursday.

The Pearl Rally is the second round of the Africa Rally Championship and will take two days of proper rally. 

15 ARC contenders took on the qualifying stage and eventually chose their starting order for leg one. The fastest crews on the pass are given priority to choose their start position. 

It was Kenya’s Samman Vohra posting the fastest time of the 4.62km stage, posting 3:47 seconds.

Karan Patel came second with Ahmed Huwel third, followed by Yasin Nasser. 

Jasmeet Chana, who finished fifth, will kick off his Uganda rally debut starting car number one on the road.

Yasin Nasser starts second, followed by Ahmed Huwel, Karan Patel, Samman Vohra and Aakif Virani will follow in that order. 

Day one will cover 65.02km competitive distance consisting of four stages, including a Super Special Stage at Mwesigwa Resort.
