Overview:
Over 13 schools took part in the day-long championship, arguably Uganda’s premier inter-schools golf championship, supported by NCBA Bank, STAWISHA Golf, Uganda Golf Union (UGU), Blue Phoenix as well as the hosts Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa.
2026 Inter-schools Golf championship:
- Champion: Kings College Budo
- Runners up: Oasis International School
- 2nd Runners up: 7 Hills International School, Kampala
Overall best player of the tournament:
- Polster Victor Kalenzi (Valley Spur International School) – 66 Gross
For the third consecutive year, Kings College Budo won the national golf schools’ championship at the lavish Lake Victoria Serena Golf Resort and Spa course in Kigo, Wakiso district.
Kings College Budo amassed a total of 372 gross, ahead of the runners up Kabojja International School (411 gross).
“To win for the third time in a row has been a result of hard work from every member on the golf team. Our coaches have also done a commendable job to see to it that we train well, on different courses” Kings College Budo captain Kyle Mugabi remarked.
“I thank the school management for the enabling environment for us to play golf and these are the results” Mugabi added.

Individual winners:
Varad Mahendra Godse (Horizon international school) won the boys’ 10 and under section with a score of 40; ahead of International School of Uganda’s Austine Abaho (43).
Kirsteen Amani Mugisha (Oasis International school) won the girls’ 10 and under category with 71.
Ruth Joy Ampaire Kakuru (Kabojja International school) was runners up with 74.
Polster Victor Kalenzi (Valley Spur International School) carded 66 gross to win the boys’ 11 to 14 years’ category, beating Kabojja International School’s Kanan Tayebwa (87).
Patricia Mbeiza (Kings College Budo) amassed 127 in the girls’ 11 to 14 years whilst Shiloh Esther Mahoro scored 124.
For boys 15 to 18 years, Larry Nshekanabo (Kings College Budo) won with 92; ahead of Phillipp Pirani (7 Hills International school) who scored 96.
Jamillah Jasmine Namale (Kings College Budo) scored 149; same as schoolmate Charissa Mugumya.
Jacy Ahimbisibwe and Jenna Akullu emerged as the most outstanding match play pairing.
Primary schools:
International School of Uganda (ISU) was best in the primary school department with 182, ahead of Acorns International school (198).
Tournament director Les Brown insists that such a tournament will further grow the golf talent from the grassroot stage.
“The intention is to grow the culture of golf development by creating partnerships between schools and golf clubs as a way of changing the perception and myth that golf is only for the rich cluster of people” Brown hinted.
Two teachers; Theresa Lubega and a one Prossy of Kings College Budo and Oasis International school respectively were also recognized for their exceptional mobilization and organizational skills that contributed to this successful tournament.
