The court is set, the mission is defined and a familiar face is back to lead the charge in the CAVB Zone V Nations Qualifiers.
Shilla Omuriwe returns as the head coach of the Men’s national team ahead of the zonal championship.
The Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) has officially unveiled the technical lineup for the men’s national team that will be led by Omuriwe.
The appointment brings a mix of tactical continuity and a burning sense of unfinished business that will be required for the regional stage.
Coach Shilla is no stranger to the pressures of the international stage. During her previous tenure, she guided Uganda to a respectable fifth finish in the African Championship.
While that performance solidified Uganda’s status as a rising continental power, the current appointment suggests that both the coach and the federation are aiming even higher and for 2026.
Her leadership style, grounded in discipline and technical precision, will be the foundation upon which the team hopes to build their path to the podium.
Shilla will work alongside Joshua Osiya (1 assistant coach) and Tom Paul Amou (2nd assistant coach) to bring glory to the home crowd.
