After missing an opportunity to close in on Vipers following defeat to NEC, Kitara visit Express at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo on Tuesday aiming to bounce back.

The Royals, 3rd on the log with 54 points must beat the Red Eagles to remain in firm contention for the title.

With table leaders Vipers, six ahead playing against Police earlier at Kiira Road, the points difference could even be more than six.

Former Express midfielder Emmanuel Wasswa, facing ex-bosses expects a tough outing but understands the importance of winning against his former teammates.

“We lost our last game and we were disappointed,” said Wasswa. “But we want to win and keep closer to the leading pack,” he added.

“So far, we have played twice against them and beat them and it will be difficult to get a third one but we are determined.”

Express, 10th on the log with 33 points, also want victory to improve their chances of finishing among the top eight teams in the premier league.

The hosts also have Marvin Nyanzi, a former Royal in their squad and will be desperate to prove his worth.

Meddie Kibirige serves his second match ban but the visitors will rely on Patrick Kaddu, Wasswa, Jimmy Kalema and George Ssenkaaba for goals.

For the hosts, forward Kenneth Kimera on loan from Vipers will lead the hunt for goals.

Elsewhere, Entebbe UPPC visit Maroons at Mutesa II stadium, Wankulukuku, URA host Calvary in the early kick off of the Nakivubo double header, BUL host Lugazi while Vipers visit Police at Kamwokya.
