Kyadondo SS made a perfect start to the Uganda Secondary Schools Football Boys Championship as the 2026 edition got underway on Monday in Lira City.

Kyadondo, who reached the Wakiso Zonal finals but lost to St. Mary’s Boarding SS Kitende, made their intentions clear at the tournament by beginning with a victory against Kigumba Intensive SS.

Rafael Masoud and Joseph Kakooza scored a goal apiece to guide Kyadondo SS to a 2-1 win. Victor Adoko got the consolation for Kigumba.

Last year in Ngora, Kyadondo reached the quarterfinal stage but got eliminated by Bukedea Comprehensive School on penalties.

Kyadondo are in Group E, which also has Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) and Kalisizo Seed School.

On Matchday Two (Tuesday), Kyadondo SS will return to action in a highly anticipated encounter against Jinja Progressive Academy.
