Reigning Africa rally champion Yasin Nasser has confirmed his participation in the remaining ARC events.
Nasser and co-driver Ali Katumba completed the second round of the African series; Pearl rally Africa rally last weekend in Mbarara in third place. The round was won by Kenya’s Karan Patel with Samman Vohra settling for second.
Despite securing vital points, Yasin confessed that he will put in less in defending the title but rather keep the title contention much alive.
“Our earlier plan was to take a break after winning the ARC title. But it is not easy to be away from motorsport. So, we shall be active this year, but not necessarily defending the title,” he said.
“We shall take on all ARC events only to spice up the competition. It is obvious the event entries are few, so our participation can make a change to the competition,” he added.
The Moil crew further shared his highlights of the Pearl rally.
“Pearl rally was exciting with many foreign drivers participating. An ARC event should be like that. As a team, we enjoyed ourselves and a podium made it even better,” he added.
The team has 34 points from two rounds. But the gap of 49 points behind ARC leader Karan Patel could be a huge one with two events remaining.

The next round of the ARC heads to Rwanda in July.
