Bwera SS registered their first victory at the ongoing USSSA U20 Boys Football Championship in Lira City, after overcoming Makobore High School on Tuesday.
On the opening day, Bwera SS lost 1-0 to Kicwamba High School and thus needed a big response today to brighten their hopes of progressing to the knockout stage.
Indeed, it is what the Rwenzori region-based school did, securing a 4-0 win thanks to goals from Huzaifah Mbuusa and Kennedy Isingoma, Bright Kajjiko and Rabson Tembo.
Makobore’s journey at the tournament is done despite having one more group game to play. They lost 6-1 to Agape SS on Monday, and not even a win against Kicwamba in the final game can help them.
Group C is now led by Agape SS and Kicwamba High School, who played out a two-all draw, and both are now level on four points. Bwera follows closely on three points while Makobore are yet to pick any point.
Action in Group C will come to a close on Wednesday with Kicwamba High School playing Makobore, while Bwera will face Agape SS, with both games to be played at Obote SS at 2 PM.
It should be noted that only the top two teams in each of the 16 groups progress to the round of 32.

I think it is just a beginning
