Match day three of the on-going 2026 Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) Boys Football in Lira was played on Wednesday, 13th May at the various grounds.
The battle for the qualification to the round of 32 stage rages on as several schools completed their group stage games in the morning and mid-morning games.
Later in the evening, the official opening duel of the tournament between hosts Lira Town College and PP Newton was played in the evening on a slippery Lira Town College playground after the tournament’s opening ceremony festivities.
Lira Town College won 2-0 over PP Newton in a well attended duel played on a slippery surface after the afternoon rains in Lira city and the surrounding areas.
In some of the morning games played; Kiwamba High School thumped Makobore High School 8-2 in a contest that produced the most goals.
The reigning champions Buddo S.S humiliated Kaserem S.S 7-1 and Mbarara Army lost Mentor S.S 5-0.
Amus College School overcame Mukono Kings 4-1 with Mudasir Ijosiga scoring a hat-trick and Julius Etoma adding the other.
Mbale city basedNkoma S.S won 3-1 past Panyandoli Self Help.
London College Nansana overcame Mehta S.S 3-0 with Bruno Kyomuhendo, SilverAmara Kuteesa and D.Daniel (own goal) all on target.
Kyadondo S.S won 2-0 over Kalisizo Seed at the Lira P7 playground for the third straight victory.
Mengo S.S recorded their opening victory at the campaign; winning 1-0 overBishop Comboni College with Ibrahim Mubiru on target.
Kisozi Seed edged Pabo S.S 2-0 with Owen Kaye netting a brace. Agape S.S overcame Bwera S.S 2-1 and Jinja Progressive Academy (JIPRA) won 1-0 over Kigumba Intensive High School.
Elsewhere, Ssingo S.S recorded the third successive victory, triumphing 3-0 overIbanda S.S.
