SC Villa make a long trip to Kamwenge to face Mbarara City aiming to seal another league double over the Ankole Lions.

The Jogoos come into the game on the back of a frustrating goalless draw at home to BUL that literally ended their title pursuit.

With 52 points, Villa are in 4th position on the 16-team log are a win will move them into 3rd place, replacing Kitara who were beaten 3-2 by Express at Hamz stadium on Tuesday.

The 17-time champions could also climb into second place if KCCA lose at UPDF with the two matches playing simultaneously.

It remains to be seen whether head coach Zeljko Kovacevic will shuffle his pack as he prepares for the Stanbic Uganda Cup return leg in the semi-final scheduled for Saturday at Kadiba.

Frank Ssebuufu, Najib Yiga, Hassan Mubiru and Patrick Kakande among others will be key for the visitors who won the reverse fixture 6-1 at Kadiba.

Mbarara City are 12th with 24 points and are unbeaten in four matches winning the last two in a row.

In other matches on Wednesday, KCCA visit UPDF at Bombo while NEC host Buhimba United Saints at Lugogo.
