The group stage matches for the ongoing USSSA Boys football competition in Lira city will conclude on Thursday, 14th May 2026, at the various playgrounds.

There will be 16 matches played to determine the fate of many schools as the Round of 16 stage comes knocking on Friday, 15th May 2026.

In some of the 9:00 a.m. kick-offs, St Kagwa Bushenyi takes on Kabalega SS at the Lira P7 grounds during Group L.

At Canon Lawrence Primary School playgrounds, Busia SS face multiple winners Kibuli S.S in another Group L contest.

Both Busia S.S and Kibuli S.S are on four points with a point apiece, securing them progress to the knockout round.

“We want to end the group stages on a high note. There is no room for error,” Emuron Recoba, head coach for Kibuli S.S., testified.

NUMASA will play Bukedea Comprehensive South at the Lira Town College playground in Group I.

Away in Boroboro, Muzza Christian High School squares up against Iganga Parents at the Dr Obote II playground.

Dr Obote College plays Aringa SS at Dr Obote 1 playground and

In Group M, Madina Islamic SS tussles against Masaka SS at the Lira Town College Playground.

Masaka S.S. has already secured a Round of 16 slot and only needs a point to top the group. With four points, Madina Islamic requires at least one point to progress to the knockout round.

At the same time, in Group M, Kitgum Standard High School will play Lumino High School at the Lango College II playground.

Aiden College Wakiso will square up against Lake Side SS in Group N at the Dr Obote II playground, whilst in the same group, Garama SS takes on Kazo Hill College at the Dr Obote I playground.

In Group P, St Mary’s Boarding Secondary School Kitende takes on Seroma Christian High School at Lango College 1, whilst in the same group, Bukedea Comprehensive North will be playing Lubiri SS at Lango College III.

Both Bukedea (North) and Kitende have four points, with Lubiri on three, as Seroma is already eliminated with zero points from their opening two matches.

Wednesday witnessed the official opening of this championship by the State Minister for Primary Education, Dr Joyce Moriku Kaducu, at the Lira Town College Playground.

The knockouts (Round of 32) come on Friday, 15th May 2026, as well as the classification matches.
