Green Light Islamic Secondary School will face Bukedea Comprehensive School South during the Round of 16 stage of the ongoing USSSA Boys’ Football Championship in Lira city.
The development followed a 3-2 post-match penalty victory over multiple champions Kibuli S.S during the Round of 32 clash at the Lango College playground 1.
The normal time of this clash had ended goalless. Abdul Razak Irakunda, Hamza Ssentamu and Captain Christian Terry Andabati scored in the tense shootout for Green Light Islamic, with Thomas Calvin Kawooya missing.
Meddie Nsereko and Musa Kironde were on target for Kibuli S.S., whilst goalkeeper Paddy Sajja and captain Vincent Kasangati missed their respective kicks.

Green Light Islamic will now face Bukedea Comprehensive South in Saturday’s Round of 16 clash.
Bukedea Comprehensive South smiled 3-0 past Bristol S.S at Lira Town College. Simon Wanyama scored a brace, and Wycliffe Ssentongo netted the other.
In the other contests, NUMASA beat Mvara S.S 3-1 as St Joseph S.S Buyaga lost 5-6 in post-match penalties to Busia S.S after a goalless draw in normal time at the Dr Obote College playground.
Other successful schools through to the Round of 16:
Buddo S.S, Mbale Progressive, Kawempe Muslim and London College Nansana Amus College, Kyadondo S.S, Nkoma S.S and Mentor SS all booked their slots to the last 16 stage.
4 PM Games:
The final set for the Round of 32 kicked off at 4 PM. Masaka S.S battled Lake Side S.S at Lira Town College.
Madina Islamic S.S faces Aiden College School at Lango College playground 1, Ngora High School took on Lubiri S.S at Dr Obote College Playground 1, and Kitara S.S faced off with record winners St Mary’s Kitende at Dr Obote College Playground 2.
