St Mary’s Kitende will face Madina Islamic S.S at the round of 16 stage in the on-going Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Boys’ football competition.

The record USSSA boys’ football champions thumped Kitara S.S 4-0 during the round of 32 stage at Dr Obote College playground 1 on Friday.

Denis Kisiriko netted a brace as Jordan Tugume and Laurian Lwesibawa had a goal apiece for the dominant Wakiso region champions.

They take on Wakiso region’s Madina Islamic who edged Aiden College 1-0.

Meanwhile, Lubiri S.S set up a clash against Masaka in the other round of 16 match.

Lubiri S.S outwitted Ngora High School 1-0 courtesy of Abuyi Malith’s penalty whilst Masaka S.S edged Lake S.S 1-0.

At the same time, Green Light Islamic Secondary School will face Bukedea Comprehensive School South at the round of 16.

Green Light eliminated Kibuli S.S 3-2 in post match penalties after a goal-less draw in normal time at the Lango College playground 1.

Bukedea Comprehensive South smiled 3-0 past Bristol S.S at Lira Town College.

Simon Wanyama scored a brace and Wycliffe Ssentongo with another.

In the other contests, NUMASA beat Mvara S.S 3-1 as St Joseph S.S Buyaga lost 5-6 in post match penalties to Busia S.S after a goal-less draw in normal time at the Dr Obote College playground.

Other successful schools through to the round of 16:

Buddo S.S, Mbale Progressive, Kawempe Muslim and London College Nansana Amus College, Kyadondo S.S, Nkoma S.S and Mentor SS all booked their slots to the last 16 stage.

A new trophy was officially unveiled on Thursday, 14th May 2026.
