According to UPL, this year’s awards will be determined through a comprehensive selection process that combines technical analysis, performance data, football observation, stakeholder engagement and controlled public interaction to ensure credibility and fairness in the final outcome.

The Uganda Premier League Secretariat has officially unveiled the nominees for the 2025/26 StarTimes Uganda Premier League Awards.

In the Most Valuable Player category, SC Villa’s duo of Frank Ssebuufu and Barasa Mangoli are in the contest against Vipers’ Karim Watambala, KCCA’s Ivan Ahimbisibwe and Entebbe UPPC’s Ambrose Kigozi.

Mangoli also leads the cast in the Young Player of the Year category alongside UPDF’s Enrique Lubwama, NEC’s left back Hakim Wandera and BUL’s U-17 international Richard Okello.

There is also a coach of the year category headlined by Vipers’ Jack Ivan Minnaert, SC Villa’s Zeljko Kovacevic, Entebbe UPPC’s Abdallah Mubiru and NEC’s Badru Kaddu.

The other category revealed has the goal of the season with Villa’s Hassan Mubiru strike against KCCA, Charles Lwanga’s lob against Police nominated along with Alex Yiga stunner for KCCA against BUL, Robin Kane banger against UPDF for Vipers and Karim Watambala’s strike versus Police as well as Rogers Torach long range effort at home against Lugazi.

The voting ecosystem will include contributions from a technical panel, league statistics and data, selected football stakeholders, media input and limited weighted fan engagement.

Fans can now cast their votes in selected categories including the Most Valuable Player award, Young Player of the Season, Coach of the Season and Goal of the Season, while other honours such as the Golden Boot Award, Golden Glove Award, Fair Play Team Award and Platinum Award will also recognize excellence and contribution to Ugandan football during the 2025/26 season.
