- AFCON U-17 Group B
- Uganda 2-2 Côte d’Ivoire
Uganda Cubs twice rallied from a goal down to earn a point off Cote d’Ivoire in the two-all draw at the AFCON U-17 Championship in Morocco.
Koudougnon Drebo and Souleyman Kone scored for the West Africans, with Henry Muhoozi and a late-late well-struck penalty from Arafat Ibanda restoring parity for the Cubs.
Drebo scored in the 25th minute with the VAR confirming the goal after a review to take the lead at Field 11 of the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Rabat on Tuesday afternoon.
Uganda equalised four minutes before the halftime break through a well-struck free-kick by Muhoozi.
Kone restored Cote d’Ivoire’s lead in the 79th minute, another goal confirmed by the VAR following an offside suggestion.

With the minutes trickling down, Uganda grabbed the equaliser through Ibanda’s penalty, confirmed by the VAR as the East Africans deservedly earned a point.
Uganda will now engage in a playoff for a FIFA World Cup place.
Côte d’Ivoire tops Group B with seven points. Uganda opened with a 3-0 victory over the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and fell 0-1 to Cameroon.
The game was a tough one. It was a game of different halves. They blocked all spaces in the first half but fought gallantly in the second half to at least get an equalizer. The boys fought well and showed that they are capable of playing every team in the world.

The ref blew the whistel before CIV’s second goal. It should not have stood. Uganda’s number 5 made the final pass but the ref blew the whistle before the ball went in.
FUFA should file a complaint ASAP.
Thanks 👍👍😊 for updates
