KOBs and Impis shall renew their rivalry when they meet Kampala Rugby in the return fixture of the Premiership Playoff quarterfinals on Saturday.
The first leg ended in a 23-12 victory for the KOBs, despite both teams scoring 2 tries each. On the day, Impis’ kicking for goal was off, with veteran Henry Nsekuye and youngster Garvin Kirabo missing all their penalty attempts. KOBs, on the other hand, converted their kicks through Joseph Aredo and Calvin Gizamba, with that being the difference on the day.
Impis has now welcomed back Darren Aine, who has been their first-choice kicker in the regular season.
KOBs, on the other hand, welcome back Ian Munyani, who was dearly missed in the midfield, in addition to a kicking option in Rasul Abiriga and Mark William Lukwago at the back.
In the KOBs back row, youngsters Ian Bwowe and Benjamin Muwanguzi join the veteran Scott Oluoch, while Byron Oketayot returns to the fray to provide cover for the aforementioned players. Interestingly, Ibrahim Khemis starts at scrumhalf, in place of Stuart Mwayi, who starts on the bench.

If the first leg was a test for Impis, this second leg is going to be a closed-book examination. They go to Kampala Rugby with an 11-point deficit against a team that has gone unbeaten at home.
In better news, Impis’ eighthman, Pius Mpoza, shall be celebrating 100 appearances for the club he joined in 2017 and served as chairman for.
