Overview:
While Ahimbisibwe was unable to hit the heights he did last season while at URA when he scored 16 goals, he beat Vipers’ Karim Watambala who managed 12 goals.
Ivan Ahimbisibwe won the StarTimes Uganda Premier League after notching 14 goals despite KCCA finishing second behind Vipers.
KCCA ended the season trophyless for seven years now despite winning 19 matches, same as champions Vipers.
While Ahimbisibwe was unable to hit the heights he did last season while at URA when he scored 16 goals, he beat Vipers’ Karim Watambala who managed 12 goals.
The other players to hit double figures were Entebbe UPPC’s Ambrose Kigozi (12 goals), Vipers’ Usama Arafat (10 goals) and Kitara’s Patrick Kaddu (10 goals).
With that triumph, it is now the 13th season that a KCCA player has won the golden boot since league inception in 1968.
The first KCCA player to win the golden boot was Chris Ddungu in 1975 who scored 12 goals.
Others are Jimmy Kirunda, Davis Kamoga (twice), Frank Kyazze (twice), Geoffrey Sserunkuma (twice), Brian Umony, Jackson Mayanja, Herman Wasswa, Tony Odur and Muhammad Shaban.
