After falling to the Namuwongo Blazers, City Oilers have returned to winning ways after edging JT Jaguars.
City Oilers secured a hard-fought 59-53 victory against JT Jaguars in the National Basketball League encounter on Sunday evening.
The Jaguars came out of the blocks early to take a five-point lead (17-12) at the end of the opening period.
In the second quarter, the Jaguars were limited to only 10 points thus trailing by seven points (34-27) going into the halftime break.
Coming from the long break, JT Jaguars put pressure on the ball thus not allowing the Oilers to find a smooth rhythm before reducing the deficit to five points (48-43).
Andrew Tendo’s troops held on and secured a six-point victory on the day.
Joel Kayira (19 points) and Fayed Baale (13 points) led the Oilers’ scoring chart in double digits.
On the other hand, Peter Sifuma managed a double-double dropping 16 points and pulled down 22 rebounds before Victor Bwana added 11 points.
