Uganda Cranes friendly games against Tanzania and Madagascar have been cancelled according to a statement released by FUFA.
In a publication issued on Wednesday, the reason cited is directed towards public health considerations in regard to the spread of Ebola especially in Uganda.
“CANCELLED: The two International Friendly matches against Tanzania and Madagascar have been cancelled due to sanitary and public health considerations as communicated by authorities through our match agents.”
As of May 27, 2026, the Ebola Bundibugyo outbreak in DRC had been confirmed in Ituri, Nord-Kivu, and Sud-Kivu provinces. Five cases related to the DRC outbreak also have been reported in Uganda’s capital of Kampala.
On Tuesday, according to Reuters Uganda confirmed six more new cases of Ebola, bringing the total confirmed in the country so far to 15.
Uganda Cranes was slated to face Tanzania on 5th June and Madagascar three days later in Marrakesh. The team had already arrived in Morocco.
