ICPAU has contributed UGX 21 million in cash and in-kind support towards the championship, reaffirming its commitment to youth development and the growth of woodball in Uganda.
The Uganda Woodball Federation (UWbF) has received support of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Uganda (ICPAU) as the main sponsor of the 16th ICPAU Juniors Woodball Championship.
The championship is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 13 June 2026, at the Kyambogo University Peace Park Grounds in Nakawa Division, Kampala.

The event is expected to attract over 600 participants from more than 100 primary and secondary schools across the country, compared to the 400 participants who participated in the 2025 edition.
ICPAU has contributed UGX 21 million in cash and in-kind support towards the championship, reaffirming its commitment to youth development and the growth of woodball in Uganda.
Since the inception of the ICPAU Junior Woodball Championship in 2010, ICPAU has been the principal sponsor of the tournament, supporting all 16 editions.
Through this longstanding partnership, the Institute has played a significant role in promoting woodball among young people and advancing the sport at the grassroots level across Uganda.
The primary objective of the championship is to create awareness of woodball among primary and secondary school learners while nurturing the next generation of players. The championship also promotes values that align with ICPAU’s core values of professionalism, excellence, accountability, integrity and responsiveness.

Last minute transfer of venue:
The championship was initially scheduled to be hosted in Koboko District, West Nile Region.
However, due to ongoing Ebola-related public health concerns, the Organising Committee resolved to relocate the event to Kampala.
The Federation will work closely with the relevant authorities to ensure adherence to all health and safety guidelines throughout the championship.
Since 2010, ICPAU has played a pivotal role in the growth and development of woodball in Uganda, supporting 15 successful editions of the championship.
The 2025 edition was hosted in Wakiso District, and the planned hosting of the 2026 edition in Koboko was intended to continue the Federation’s strategy of rotating the championship across different regions of the country.
This approach is aimed at promoting woodball at the grassroots level and increasing access to the sport among young people nationwide.
Ms Lydia Tusiime, Manager Business Development at ICPAU, noted that the primary objective of the event is to create awareness of woodball among primary and secondary school learners while nurturing the next generation of players.
“The championship provides an important platform for introducing young people to the sport and promoting values such as professionalism, excellence, accountability, integrity and responsiveness, which are at the core of ICPAU’s vision and values,” she said.
