Overview:
Effective this year, the series swing off on 16th to 19th June for the first event for a total cash kitty of Ug.Shs 15,000,000 before the quarterly event for the amateurs on 20th June. This will be followed by subsequent editions in September (15th to 18) and the climax in December (8th to 11th) for Ug.Shs 20,000,000 and Ug.Shs 30,000,000 respectively.
MTN Pro-Tee Series 2026:
- 1st event: 16th to 19th June
- 2nd event: 15th to 18th September
- 3rd event: 8th to 11th December

In a bid to boost the level of professional golf among the local legion of players, the management of Entebbe Club, in conjunction with a long-term partner MTN Uganda, has started the MTN Pro-Tee series.
The MTN Pro-Tee series will be played quarterly, alongside the quarterly tee tournament for amateurs, which also supplements the monthly tee at this lakeside golfing facility in Entebbe Municipality.

This will be followed by subsequent editions in September (15th to 18) and the climax in December (8th to 11th) for Shs 20,000,000 and Shs 30,000,000, respectively.
These series will all be played over 72 holes at Entebbe Club.
Addressing journalists at the official launch on the terrace of the Entebbe Club house, Enterprise Segment Manager at MTN Business, Justina Icabala, boldly outlined the essence of fronting professional golfers.
By involving the professionals, we are elevating the game of golf. We have watched the community in Entebbe grow. We must empower the professionals and allow them grow to another level. We are putting real money on the line by pushing pros to play under intense conditions for over 72 holes. Every single swing counts. Free your fire; free your swing.

Captain of Entebbe Club Serwano Walusimbi believes that the MTN PRO Tee event will transform the game of the professionals in the right desired trajectory.
“MTN and Entebbe Club are offering the pros that platform to compete domestically and across the region. These tournaments will foster regular competition among the professionals,” Walusimbi elucidated.

In the same breath, Davis Kato, the chairman of the Uganda Professional Golfers Association (UPGA) and Innocent Kihika, Trustee of the UPGA, openly embraced MTN Uganda with open hands to professional golf.
As professionals in golf, we have been struggling to have events locally. MTN Uganda is much welcome and a big thank you. It will surely improve our skill set, ensure consistence and offer a practice platform for regional and international events. We are excited and grateful as golf professionals. Kato notified that the professional golfers’ family has grown to 62 members, with the latest additions being the 2023 Uganda Amateur Open Golf winner, Andrew Ssekibejja and Ibrahim Bagalana.
Three of these are ladies: Eva Magala, Irene Nakalembe and Flavia Namakula.
It is just a starter. I have always promised something. And something big has arrived. We are grateful to MTN Uganda. The MTN Pro Tee series are here to create a good unison and will prepare our pros better. Every pro kitty will be paid by MTN Momo pay.
