2026 FIFA World Cup
Group B:
- Qatar 1-1 Switzerland
- Canada 1-1 Bosnia and Herzegovina
Qatar and Switzerland played to a one-all draw in Group B during the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium on Saturday.
Breel Donald Embolo scored a first-half penalty for Switzerland before Boualem Khoukhi’s late-late headed equaliser.

Embolo was well composed to score a penalty in the 17th minute after a VAR review.
The Rennes forward, who was born in Cameroon, sent the Qatar goalkeeper Mahmud Abunada the wrong way for the great goal.
Abunada had fouled Remo Freuler in the forbidden area.
With the game destined for a 1-0 victory in favour of Switzerland, Khouhkhi and Qatar had other thoughts altogether.

In the fifth of the six additional minutes before the climax of the game, Khouhkhi headed home the equaliser past goalkeeper Gregor Kobel, for the well-celebrated goal.
The draw earned Qatar their first-ever point at the FIFA World Cup.
The result means that all four teams in Group B have four points.

Tournament co-hosts Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina both have a point apiece after that 1-all draw at the Toronto stadium on Friday.
Next group B matches:
Switzerland takes on Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, 18th June 2026, at the Los Angeles Stadium, Inglewood.
Canada will then tussle against a wounded Qatar the following day, Friday, 19th June 2026, at the BC Place Vancouver.
