The 6th edition of the Guinness powered Mwiri League will climax this Saturday, 20th June 2026 at the Ruckyard in Jinja city, Eastern Uganda.

Commencing with the cohorts that advanced to the quarterfinals, this will be the final bend of the season where the Mbaawos (1991 to 1997 class) will donate a special drug storage device worth Ug.Shs 3.5M to Jinja main Hospital.

Mwiri League chairperson Shadrack Olinga, while addressing the media at Inspire Café in Kampala underlined the bold preparations towards the D-day, applauding the sponsors and partners on board, including Uganda Breweries Limited under the Guinness brand.

We are excited to have the climax of the 2026 Mwiri League, starting with the quarter finals, all the way to the finals. It will be an exciting day that we shall start with the donation of the drug storage device to Jinja main hospital as part of the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). There will be entertainment and lots of fun. We thank all our sponsors and partners.

Blend of football, networking & entertainment:

Four quarter-finals, two semifinal duels as well as one bronze and gold match apiece will be the full menu on the day.

Old students, well-wishers and friends of Mwiri College will converge together to smile together, rekindling old memories and tales with definitely new friendships forged.

Top notch entertainment from Lillian Mbabazi and the band, MC Kats (an old student at Mwiri), DJ KAS Baby, Josh MC, MC Crazy, DJ Dranix, DJ Wagga, DJ Hyber and other surprise acts on the day will thrill the congregration.

Jonan Kandwanaho, an old student of Mwiri College, now Managing Director at JONAKEE Holdings Limited, a financial institution will offer free money litracy lectures.

Rock Boom, NIRA, Fakhruddin Properties, Ken Bright, MTN Momo, Tents 4 U and Safe Boda are the other assistant partners whilst all the health requirements will be well catered for by the trusted, tried and tested C-CARE.

A glittering trophy awaits the winning cohort with accompanying gold medals whilst silver and bronze will head to the second and third placed teams respectively.

The Old Students Alumni leagues have fostered good health among the different ob’s and og’s, provided a viable networking platform and offered abundant opportunities for direct and indirect marketing.
