  • Morning: Victoria Strikers 180/6 beat Mburo Blasters 112 all out by 68 runs
  • Afternoon: Bunyonyi Warriors 136 all out beat Kyoga Avengers 101 all out by 35 runs

Victoria Strikers beat the Mburo Blasters at their own game with a comprehensive win that moved them into third place and close to their opponents in second place.

Mburo Blasters was handicapped because they didn’t have the services of their captain, Riazat Ali Shah, who was out with an injury.

Mburo Blasters won the toss and elected to bowl. Simon Ssesazi (64) and Perry Wazombe (23) got out of the blocks quickly, scoring at 10 runs an over before the latter departed, but a late surge from Pius Oloka (29) and Robert Ajuna (43 not out) pushed the score to 180/6 in 20 overs.

In the run chase, Mburo Blasters was reduced to 11/3, and they never recovered from that position. Matthew Musinguzi claimed three wickets in one over that deflated the run chase.

Brian Asaba (33) and Innocent Mwebaze (35) made sure the final score was respectable, but it couldn’t get them over the line. The Victoria Strikers picked up their second win of the tournament.

In the afternoon, Kyoga Avengers dropped their first points of the tournament in a low-scoring encounter.

Bunyonyi Warriors won the toss and elected to bat first, but they failed to find rhythm with the bat, with only Joseph Baguma (36) making a meaningful contribution in their team total of 136.

In the response, Adam Kassim (5/14) and Anas Baig (3/10) were the masterminds of the win as Kyoga Avengers failed to mount a challenge, thus dropping their first points of the tournament after five consecutive wins.

On Matchday 7, Victoria Strikers take on Mburo Blasters in the morning, while Bunyonyi Warriors and Kyoga Avengers face off in the afternoon.
