  • Switzerland 4-1 Bosnia and Herzegovina

Switzerland whipped Bosnia and Herzegovina 4-0 in Group B at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Los Angeles Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Johan Manzambi (2), Ruben Vargas and Granit Xhaka (penalty) scored the all-important goals inside the final quarter hour of the game.

Manzambi, the SC Freiburg attacking midfielder, was well-positioned to volley home past goalkeeper Nikola Vasilj.

Vargas finished from close range after being set up by Breel Donald Embolo in the 84th minute.

Once again, Manzambi got his second goal in the game on the stroke of full time, with Vargas turning provider.

Bosnia and Herzegovina completed the game with a man less after the sending off of defender Tarik Muharemovic in the 80th minute.

Muharemovic (Sassuolo Football Club defender) denied Embolo a goal-scoring opportunity.

Bosnia and Herzegovina pulled a goal back through a stunning Ermin Mahmic wonder strike from 35 yards in the third minute of added time.

Mahmic, an attacking midfielder for Czech first league club Slovan Liberec, struck off a first-time volley that flew past goalkeeper Gregor Kobel into the back of the net for the consolation.

Xhaka of Sunderland football club sealed Switzerland’s victory with a well-drilled penalty.

The victory takes Switzerland to the top of Group B with 4 points after their one-all draw with Qatar.

In the same group, Canada faces Qatar at the BC Place Vancouver.
