- Netherlands 2-2 Japan
- Sweden 5-1 Tunisia
Tunisia, one of Africa’s representatives at the ongoing 2026 FIFA World Cup, has been eliminated with one group-stage game to play.
The North Africans suffered a humiliating 4-0 defeat at the hands of Japan in Group F at the Estadio Monterrey on Sunday morning.

Ayase Ueda notched a brace, with Daichi Kamada and Yunya Ito scoring the other goals for Japan.
Kamada has now scored three goals as he is among the tournament’s joint top scorers alongside Lionel Messi from Argentina.
The defeat meant that Tunisia has now conceded 9 goals in two games following the earlier 1-5 slip to Sweden.

Tunisia’s elimination follows the earlier exit of Haiti and Turkey, with a game to play.
Netherlands leads Group F with four points, the same as Japan.
Sweden has three points, and Tunisia has not yet won any points.
Netherlands condemned Sweden 5-1 at the Houston stadium. Brian Brobbey and Cody Gakpo each scored a brace for the Dutch, whilst Crysencio Summerville added the other goal.
Anthony Elanga pulled back a goal for Sweden.
Now, the Netherlands has to play Tunisia in the final group game, as Sweden will take on Japan on the same day.
