A spirited Iran played to a non-scoring draw with 10-man Belgium in Group G of the 2026 FIFA World Cup at the Los Angeles stadium, Inglewood.

The Belgians endured the final 23 minutes of the game with a man less after the sending off of Nathan Ngoy.

Iranian goalkeeper Aliza Beiranvand was named man of the match for the outstanding performance.

Belgium now has two points from two games following their opening 1-all draw with Egypt.

On the second game, Egypt recovered from a goal down to outsmart New Zealand 3-1 at the BC Place Vancouver stadium.

Finn Surman put New Zealand ahead in the 15th minute. Egypt replied superbly though three second half goals by Mostafa Ziko, Mohamed Salah and second half substitute Trezeguet.

This was the first ever victory for Egypt at any FIFA World Cup tournament.

The victory thus propelled Egypt to the summit of Group G with four points after the 1-all draw with Belgium.
