The third edition of the Hamz Cup officially kicked off on 6th June 2026 at the Hamz stadium (Nakivubo War Memorial grounds) in the heart of Uganda’s capital city, Kampala.

The tournament will lured as many as 32 teams; divided into the different pools (groups).

Every match day has brought energy, excitement and joy not only in the stands but also round the surroundings.

As the thrilling action rages on at that astro-turf surface of Hamz stadium, there is every justification to celebrate that lovely pass, dribble, header, block, tackle, shot and goal scored.

The party atmosphere on each match day has continued to lure crowds which have been handsomely rewarded their real value for money.

The fancy coordinated play aside, the supporters have witnessed mouthwatering action since match day one characterized with mean defenders, fancy dribblers, ball passers and yes; razor sharp shooters.

In the 10 matches played thus far, a staggering total of 26 goals have been scored, an average of 2.6 goals per match.

Thus far, the game with the biggest goals scored was during Man U Fans Ug’s 5-2 victory over Buganda Kombucha Drink.

Other contests included Sanyu D Bags’ 0-3 defeat to Mutasa Kafeero, Arsenal Fans Uganda’s 3-0 win over Supremacy Lounge and the vocal TikTok team that triumphed 3-1 over Union Boda Boda.

Entertainment aside, the tournament is a platform for talent showcase with many scouts, agents and coaches from different teams always keeping a keen eye on the players (most of them non-licensed and others in leagues below the FUFA Big League).

Celebrities from all walk of life; entertainment world (musicians, comedians and TikTok), sports and politics are also on the show, free of charge once you get access to the stadium.

The latest celebrity to excite thousands is Uganda Cranes’ legendary goalkeeper Denis Onyango.

Over the past two decades, Onyango has been a role model for many upcoming footballers, goalkeepers in particular) in Uganda, East Africa and the entire Africa.

Onyango was presented by a framed shirt by Dr Hamis Kiggundu in appreciation for the good deeds over the years.

The Hamz Cup is no doubt the biggest football tournament in Uganda with the best prize money of Ug.Shs 100,000,000 and other prizes. We thank Dr Hamis Kiggundu for the initiative and that giving heart to the people. Every match day is promising and this is the reason why the people come in big numbers.
